Voile Straps Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – An Absolute Must-Have for Bike Touring 🔥
If there was one thing I bought for worldbybike that I absolutely could not now live without it would be my Voile Straps. They are simply incredible and make loading and unloading the bike so easy, that it’s no longer a chore.
I’ve so far bought 6 x 32” Nylon Buckle Straps: 4 Tan, and 2 Green and will buy some more to complete the muted-colour-rainbow. I find that because they’re so light and don’t take up any space, it would be silly not to have a strap covering every speck of the bike! 🤩
Not only are they great for attaching bike-packing bags, but they’re also ideal for many other uses like making handles for panniers, compressing the tent and sleeping bag, attaching items to trees, and also, well, I don’t really know, but I’m sure in an emergency they would also find their place!
The Voile Straps range in sizes from 13” to 32”, and come with either a nylon or metal buckle. I prefer the nylon buckle as it makes the product seem a little more premium, and I would imagine its sharp point is a little more friendly to bare skin or those delicate and expensive Ortlieb bags. There are also several colours ranging from bright pink to grey. I’d recommend getting a selection of colours so that you can colour-code them to their appropriate luggage items.
I’ve concluded that the 32” straps are the perfect size for most things, and I had originally also bought a 15” version which I haven’t yet found a use for it, meaning it now permanently lives on my rear rack waiting for its day of reckoning.
The saving grace is if you did buy big and then needed smaller ones you could just cut them down. In addition, Voile also makes the “Strap Keeper” to stop any excess length from flapping around. Annoyingly, these are sold separately.
