The Best Bicycle Repair Shop in Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik Bike and Adventure Shop is owned by Ivan Jaric, a technical wizard and the most professional bike mechanic I’ve ever met (bear in mind I worked in a bike shop for 4.5 years). The speed of his work is the most impressive thing.
After my rear wheel broke due to a snapped rim, Trek Croatia sent me a new rim, but with my deadline to leave the Schengen Area fast approaching, my opportunity to get the new wheel delivered, replaced and then me leave the country was dwindling.
On the 17th May 2024 with 4 days left to leave Schengen, the wheel was sent from Zagreb to Dubrovnik by bus, but I still needed to collect the wheel from the bus station at 8 PM.
Ivan the Wizard very kindly stayed open for me, past 8 PM on a FRIDAY(!) — not saying he’ll do this for anyone else in the future — but this really helped me get the wheel replaced and meet my deadline to leave in the morning.
This level of kindness, compassion, and urgency to help a travelling cyclist in a stressful period is the ultimate proof of a fantastic bike shop!
